Carlson’s interview with Father Issac was epic indeed. I am not what most people would call ‘religious’ but I do have a couple of new people I’ve met in South Carolina since we moved here two years ago, who are supposedly “devout” Christians and whom I’ve considered new friends. They’ve both said to me, “I want all those people DEAD, all the babies, children, women, men, elderly, they need to be glassed, and Gaza made into a parking lot.” I was in total emotional shock. I could barely speak. Then I did. I said, “Listen, that sounds so unlike anything your Jesus would ever want or do… babies are not “Hamas,” children are not “Hamas”- innocent people of all ages are not “Hamas.” But it made no difference. These folks fuel themselves on what they think is “Biblical prophesy” and they are the most hard-headed, cold-hearted people I’ve yet to meet here. Very, very deeply disappointing, since I got away from Covidian crazy Oregon two years ago… Just repulsive, these attitudes. I won’t stand for it. And I will speak up, always, for what is right and what is wrong. And this indiscriminate mass killing is wrong. For not being a “Christian” I’m certainly more Christian than they are.
